Girls Track & Field

The Red Devils' season ended on a high note. We set 19 school records and had 10 all-state athletes this year, with 7 returning for the following season. At State our 4x800 of Emily Cleary, Roey Hines, Graylin Harrison, and Elaine Kuckertz shattered the record, running 9:12.72 and taking 3rd place. Adabelle Ekechukwu broke both the varsity and soph records in the shotput with a toss of 40’5.75, finishing 10th in the finals. She also shattered the soph discus record with a toss of 116’10. The 4x100 of Amanda Freyn, Lauren Roush, Allison Selby, and Chelsea Celistan ran a season best of 48.86, just missing the finals. Katie Truedson had a huge pr vaulting 10’6, missing the finals by a mere 3”.  The 4x200 of Amanda Freyn, Lizzy Lusk, Mallory Morse, and Lauren Roush had to run a school record to even make the finals and finished 8th with an eye-popping time of 1:42.91. The Final event of the day for the Devils and possibly the most exciting was the 4x400, run by Lizzy Lusk, Stephanie Green, Emily Reavis, and Lauren Roush. The Devils ran 2 seconds faster in the finals to smash the school record and garner 6th place. In any other year 3:54.10 would have taken 3rd or 4th...c'est la vie. We will return. We Say Good Bye to our Seniors and open doors to new folks.

If any boy or girl wishes to run club track they need to show up at 5:00pm at the HC track with proof of age on June 9th. See Coach Wilson or Coach Richards if you can’t attend.
